Rob Davis, 65, peacefully passed away on October 28, 2026, while awaiting a liver transplant, surrounded by the love of his family.
Rob was known for his love of family, always putting them first, his incredible work ethic, and his lifelong passion for fishing. You could always catch Rob engaging in a conversation about fishing, an engine, or sharing a story from one of his many adventures. He was a man who believed in working hard, caring for those you love, and enjoying the simple things life had to offer.
Born in West Virginia to Earl and Cynthia Davis, Rob was the oldest of five siblings, Lisa, Pat, Steve, and Ed. He shared a childhood filled with adventures, memories, and experiences that would help shape the man he became.
His next great adventure began when his Uncle Dave and Aunt Donna brought him to Wyoming, a place that would become his home and where he would build a lifetime of memories. It was here that he met the love of his life, Devery, in 1984. Along with finding love, Rob gained another family as Darlene, Grady, and Holly welcomed him into their lives.
Rob and Devery began building a life together, eventually welcoming their two sons, Casey and Colten. Being a husband and father was something Rob took great pride in. He raised both of his boys with the values he believed mattered most: be kind, care for your family, work hard, and always love and respect the outdoors.
Some of the greatest memories were made doing the things Rob loved most. Camping, hunting, and fishing were more than hobbies; they were opportunities to spend time together, share stories, teach lessons, and create memories that would last a lifetime. Whether it was a weekly trip to the mountains or a quick road trip with no destination, Rob understood that sometimes the greatest adventures were simply being together.
As the years passed, Rob's family continued to grow, welcoming his daughter-in-law, Britney into the family. But among his most cherished gifts were his grandchildren, Braxton and Skylar. Being a grandfather brought another special kind of joy to his life, giving him even more reasons to smile, share stories, and pass along the traditions and values he held so close to his heart.
Rob was a wonderful provider for his family and took great pride in his work. He began his career as an ASE Ford Technician at Greiner Ford before becoming a Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician at Wyoming Machinery Company. Through years of hard work, dedication, and experience, Rob earned a position as a heavy equipment trainer, a role he greatly enjoyed because it allowed him to share his knowledge and help others grow. He later advanced to the position of technical communicator, continuing to put his years of experience and passion for mechanics to work.
While Rob was dedicated to his career, his love for fishing was something truly special. Alongside his Uncle Jim, Rob competed in the Wyoming Walleye Circuit. Their time together was filled with fishing, conversations about life, and memories that helped inspire Rob to eventually purchase the Wyoming Walleye Circuit, which he proudly operated for many years. This was more than a business or a fishing tournament to Rob. It was an opportunity to bring people together, share his passion, and help expand the world of competitive fishing for everyone, from the beginner just learning to cast a line to the most experienced angler.
Rob believed that knowledge and passion were meant to be shared. He generously donated his time to local 4-H groups, helping introduce the next generation to fishing and the outdoors. Whether he was teaching someone about an engine or helping a young angler discover the excitement of fishing, Rob found great satisfaction in passing along what he had learned throughout his life.
Rob's life was not measured simply by the years he lived, the work he accomplished, or the fish he caught. It was measured by the family he loved the people he helped, the knowledge he shared, and the memories he created along the way. His lessons will live on through his children, his grandchildren, and the countless people whose lives he touched.
And while there will always be an empty place around the campfire, an open seat in the boat, and one less voice sharing stories about the one that got away, Rob's spirit will forever be part of every adventure, every mountain road, and every cast into the water.
And as we say goodbye to Rob, we find comfort in knowing that while he leaves behind so many who love him, he is being welcomed by those who went before him. Reunited with Earl, Grady, Dave, Tom, Steve, Mike, and Phil, along with other family and friends he has missed, we can only imagine the familiar faces, the laughter, the stories, and the conversations picking up right where they left off. His journey here may have come to an end, but perhaps his next great adventure is just beginning, surrounded by the love of those who have been waiting for him.
