It is with full hearts that we celebrate the life of Ruth Eunice Rose, 84, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and mentor to many. She passed away on September 15, 2025, in Casper, WY. She was born to Eldon and Marie Muir on April 24, 1941, in Dubuque, IA. Her gift for guidance and inspiration touched the lives of everyone in her family and those around her.

Ruth lived a life rooted in love and family; her unwavering faith directed her life. She graduated from Augustana College with her BSW in 1966 and from the University of Iowa with her MSW in 1968. In June 1968, she married Douglas Rose, and they settled in Jamestown, ND. She was very active in the Presbyterian Church. There, she started a Sunday School class for kids with disabilities. She was the proud mother of two girls, Deb and Becky, whom she empowered to pursue their dreams while always being there to offer wisdom and encouragement. She worked for 15 years as a social worker at the Human Services Center. In 1991, Ruth helped start the Master’s of Social Work program at the University of Mary in Bismarck and taught as a professor there for 5 years. When they moved to Fargo, she worked for Village Family Services for 10 years and started their Attachment Disorders Clinic. She retired in 2008 and was active at Olivet Lutheran Church.

Ruth is survived by her husband Doug of Casper, WY, their children Deb (Donnie) Lane of Casper, Wyoming and their children, Chase (Sarah) Lane, Paige (Casson) Burgen, and Emily Lane, and Becky Rose of Santa Rosa, CA and her children, Taylor White and Sam White; her sister, Grace (Alan) of San Diego, CA; 5 grandchildren, Donnie and Deb's Children: ; and Becky's Children: and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ellen Langley and Jane Burt, her parents, Eldon and Marie Muir, her in-laws Wilson and Elaine Rose, and her brother-in-law Donald Rose. Instead of flowers, the family desires that memorials be given to Central WY Hospice and Transitions of Casper. A memorial service for Ruth’s life will be held on September 27, 10:00 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Casper, WY.
