Sharon Lee Hancock

Sharon passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones at Central Wyoming Hospice on August 14th, 2026 at the age of 56 after a courageous battle with Stage 4 malignant myeloma (bone cancer).

Sharon was born to Charles and Penny Frantz in Cody Wy, on April 16, 1970. Sharon leaves behind her doting mother; Penny Frantz, her loving husband; Wilbert "John" Hancock, her children; daughter, Kaylene (Justen) McCormick, sons, Spencer (Shyanne) Hancock and Jordan (Lauren) Abesames, her grandchildren; Lillyanne, Isla, Logan, Sheridan, and Charlie, her sisters; Dawn (Matt) Strand, Sarah (William) Faust, Crystal (Kyle) Henderson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sharon graduated from Natrona County High School with Presidential Honors in 1988. Being a life long learner and caregiver, Sharon earned her Bachelors Degree in Nursing and spent the majority of her career in Casper at the Wyoming Medical Center, where she wore many hats and made lasting impacts on everyone she worked with. Moving to Billings, MT. in 2016, she continued her nursing career at Advance Care Hospital where she lovingly attended patients facing terminal illnesses as well as rehab patients. Sharon was a friend and mentor to everyone she worked with.

If you asked any of her friends and family, Sharon was always knitting or crocheting, lovingly handmaking blankets, hats, dresses, and just about anything else you can think of and graciously giving them all away.

Sharon's greatest treasures were her grandchildren and she delighted in being a grandma to all 5 of them. She was Supermom in her children's eyes, as she provided inside and outside the home with an amazing grace that surpassed most saints. She loved watching true crime shows with her daughter and making day trips to Colorado with her sons.

Sharon was bit by the travel bug and loved going to the beach with her adoring husband during their many cruises. One of her favorite memories was taking a cruise to Puerto Rico with John, Kaylene and Jordan.

Sharon rededicated her life to Jesus when her daughter started going back to church. Sharon was surrounded by an amazing community of support through Outfitter church when she started attending in December 2024. She jubilantly shared her knowledge with her weekly Community Group, as she wanted everyone to know and love Jesus as she did. One of Sharon's favorite past times was faithfully watching the Lakepointe Church Sermons with Pastor Josh Howerton, boldly sharing her knowledge she gained. She gave all the Glory to God in the way she lived her life.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father Charles Frantz, her in-laws, John and Linda Hancock, and Grandbaby Jacob Hancock.

A celebration of life will be held August 20, 2026 at Bar Nunn Baptist Church in Bar Nunn at 2:30 PM. In honor of one of Sharon's favorite traditions, the service will be followed by a potluck. Please feel free to bring a dish to share.
