Listen to Obituary

Susan Marie Adams, 65, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2026, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming, after a strong three-year battle with cancer, with her loving husband, Patrick Adams, of 38 years, by her side.

Born on January 12, 1961, in Rawlins, Wyoming, Susan was a woman of strength, heart, and unmistakable spirit. Strong-willed and a true spitfire, she was also a deeply loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose devotion to her family shaped the lives of those around her.

Susan graduated from Rawlins High School in 1979. She later obtained her EMT certification and went on to serve as an EMT for 20 years in Carbon County. Her life’s work reflected her caring nature and steady resolve, and she also worked as a Medical Technician at the Veteran Home in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Through her years of service, she gave comfort and care to many, leaving a lasting impression through her compassion and dedication.

Outside of her work, Susan found joy in the things she loved most. She loved fishing and especially treasured going fishing with her father, John. She also loved to paint and draw, with a special talent for making characters on paper look like they had come to life. Reading was another of her pleasures, and those who knew her will remember the energy, creativity, and warmth she brought into everyday life.

Above all, Susan’s greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her mother, Sue Ann Johanson; and by her beloved husband, Patrick Adams, with whom she shared 38 years of marriage. She also leaves behind her children, Christina Habel, Boots Adams, Logan Adams, and Kailee Adams, who were a central part of her life and love.

Susan’s legacy continues through her grandchildren, Vea Jennings, Catrina Habel, Adalyn Adams, and Terek Sosebee, and through her great-grandchildren, Jaymyn Jennings, Jenson Jennings, and Jacelynn Jennings. She is also survived by her sister, Dixie Hill. Each of them carries forward memories of her strength, her fire, her creativity, and the deep love she gave so freely.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Johanson, and her brother, John Johanson Jr.

Susan will be remembered for her courage, her caring hands, her artistic spirit, and the fierce love she held for her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, and her memory will remain a lasting comfort to all who knew and loved her.
