Susan “Susie” Joy Johnstone, 72, passed away in Casper, Wyoming, on March 15, 2026.
Susie was born to the late June Fagan and James Arwood on August 3, 1953, in Sheridan County, Wyoming. Susie got married young, ventured out on her own, and started her family. After her first marriage, she found her lifelong partner, John; they married in May 1978 and lived in Meeteetse throughout their marriage.
Susie worked off and on as a cook at the Blue Ribbon, Lucille’s Cafe, The Club Cafe, and for the Meeteetse Senior Citizens in Meeteetse. Anywhere “Emily” or “Rita” were, was where she was happiest. Her favorite places in the world were Wood River and Kirwin, where the family spent a lot of time camping and fishing. She was known as the “Jeopardy Queen” of the family. It was well known not to call her during the airing of the show.
Susie is survived by her stepmom Kennadine Feyhl of Casper, WY; brother Kerry Moye of Casper, WY; sister Molly Chapman of Deer Park, WA; sister Cindy Elliot of Bosworth, MS; four children: David Keser (Patrice) of Vernal, UT; Kevin Keser (Tanya) of Casper, WY; Justin Johnstone of Cody, WY; and Shauna Morgan (Ryan) of Sanford, NC. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, John of 48 years; and brother Johnny.
At Susie’s request, no services are planned. A private scattering of her ashes will take place in the Spring of 2026 in Wyoming.
