Teresa "Terri" Berryhill

February 27, 1947 — May 28, 2026

Listen to Obituary

Terri Berryhill hung up her spurs on May 28, 2026, after a lifetime of working hard, playing harder, bending rules, and rooting for lost causes, including the Dallas Cowboys.

Her ride began on February 27, 1947 in Casper, Wyoming. She spent her childhood on ranches in Natrona and Carbon Counties, where her parents, Tom and Jean (Burtch) Burgess worked. She grew up with her beloved cousins Denise and Maureen, horses, and dogs as her only playmates until she started school in Rawlins, graduating from Rawlins High School in 1965. She spent some early adult years in Colorado, California, and Texas, but Wyoming always called her back home.

Terri was an accomplished barrel racer and horse trainer in her younger years, and the – sometimes tall – tales of her exploits were shared throughout her life. She loved the Natrona and Carbon County areas and had encyclopedic knowledge of their history.

Before Alzheimer’s disease stole her memories, Terri was wickedly funny, smart, almost universally competent, and, above all, kind. Her values required her to always advocate – sometimes loudly – for what’s right; and if you disagreed with her, she was happy to explain why you were wrong.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Wade Berryhill, granddaughter Tara Ellard, and three former husbands. She is already missed by her spouse, Whitney Wharton, daughter Jodi Ramsour, son and daughter-in-law Clint and Tracy Leonard, grandchildren Cecilia, Darbi, Ashley, Damon, Wyatt, Weston, Daija, and Xzavier, bonus son Chris Bullock, one great-grandson, cousins, in-laws, and BFF of 50+ years, Betty Stults.

Family and friends will be holding a private farewell at a later date.

Terri’s family is grateful for the care provided by the devoted staff of Shepherd of the Valley’s West Unit. Terri would be honored by donations in her memory to Kindness Ranch 854 WY 270, Hartville, WY 82215; or Paws2help c/o Altitude Veterinary Hospital, 3155 CY Ave, Casper, WY 82604.

Good ride cowboy, good ride.
