Thomas Derosier, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026 at the age of 67.
Tom was born on October 11, 1958, in Crookston, Minnesota. He attended Pershing High School in Plummer Minnesota and, shortly after graduating, enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served from 1977 to 1984. During his time in the Army, he was stationed in Germany, working first as a mechanic and later as a truck driver - skills that would shape the course of his life.
After his military service, Tom returned to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to be near his brother Steve. It was there that he began raising his family and continued his career as a semi-truck driver, a job he would hold for many years. On January 23, 2010 Tom married the love of his life, Diane, and together they built their home in Wyoming, where he laid down roots and remained until his passing. Tom continued driving semi up until his retirement, dedicating his life to providing for the people he loved.
Tom was a man who loved deeply and showed it in his own way - through hard work, laughter, and a lifetime of making sure his family was taken care of. He spent many years on the road, but no matter where he was, he made sure to call home every night.
That is where his heart always was- with Diane.
Tom and Diane shared a love built on commitment, resilience, and unwavering dedication. In his final months, that love was never more evident, as Diane stood by his side with strength and compassion, caring for him with a devotion that will never be forgotten.
When Tom wasn't working, his time belonged to his children and grandchildren. He loved playtime, cooking his famous lemon pepper chicken, ordering Papa Luigi's pizza, and spreading blankets across the floor for movie nights. Those simple moments became lasting memories for his family.
Tom had a sharp wit and a love for humor that kept everyone laughing. Despite his best efforts to raise a house full of Minnesota Vikings fans, he somehow ended up surrounded by mostly Green Bay Packers fans- each one carrying on his same trash-talking spirit.
As his children grew and built homes of their own, Tom was always ready- maybe a little too ready- to jump in home improvement projects. Known lovingly as "Carpenter Tom" (CT), his projects included everything from removing a basement window in -10 degree weather, to installing a garage door opener (with a few accidental staples through the wire), to attempting to level a chain link fence gate... and somehow making it less level before walking away with a shrug (all caught on home security camera). Even when things didn't go perfectly, he showed up- and that's what mattered.
Tom is survived by his wife, Diane Derosier (Mercil); his children: Matthew (Kelly), Katrina, Brandon, Brittany (Joe), Mimi (Bobby), Alez, Joshua (Angie), and 6 grandchildren. HIs stepchildren: Ross (Laura), Stefanie (John), Ryan (Meagen) and 6 step grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brother Tony Derosier (Julie), and his sister Debbie Champagne (Randy). he was preceded in death by his father Herbie, mother Darlene and his brother Steve.
Tom will be remembered for his hard work, his humor, and the quiet but steady way he loved his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
