Tracy Gene Cole

Tracy Gene Cole passed away December 4th, 2025 after a 3 year battle with cancer. 

She was born February 2nd, 1971 in Casper, Wyoming to Howard (Gene) Shanafelt and Barbara (O'Brien) Shanafelt.

She graduated from NC High School and Casper College as a Nurse. She married John Cole and together they found the joy of their lives to be their 3 children: Madison (Jordan), Grayson, and Mayson.

They spent many years in 4H raising animals, doing tractor pulls, and many craft projects winning a lot of ribbons at County & State Fairs. She loved sewing and gardening. They had a spot at the Community Gardens every summer and grew many flowers & vegetables to share with everyone. She was truly blessed to have her first grandchild, Waylon, who she was caring for daily.

She loved the idea of a memorial bench. The family is having one made for the Community Gardens.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring when the bench can be placed.
