Vicki Karlita Reed Zettlemoyer

Vicki Karlita Reed Zettlemoyer, 78, of Casper, Wyoming passed away on August 15, 2026. Vicki was born on December 30, 1947, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Clarence and Willita (Driscoll) Reed. At a young age, her father's job with Haliburton relocated the family to Casper, Wyoming. Casper is where she grew up and met her future husband. She graduated from Natrona County High School and married, Ralph M. Zettlemoyer in 1966. Vicki and Ralph moved around the States as Ralph served with the United States Army.

They returned to Casper in 1975, with their three children, Tony, Todd and Trisha. Soon after, Vicki started her own childcare business out of her home. Her career in childcare spanned over 4 decades, where she helped to raise and nurture hundreds of children over the years. Many of the children she cared for returned as adults for guidance or just to talk. She was unofficially a foster mother to many many kids.

Vicki's home was always a welcoming environment where kids would gather to play foosball, pool table, jump on the trampoline, listen to the jukebox and eat. Vicki enjoyed spending time with her kids and their friends on most weekends at the arcade- such as Just for Kicks, Super Fun, and Shakey's Pizza on CY - with occasional trips to Casa Bonita and Elitch Gardens.

Vicki loved to cook, bake, and feed her friends and family. Her cookies and pies were most memorable to those who knew her. She liked gardening, enjoyed dancing, listening to classic rock, her favorites being from the 60's, 70's and 80's music, and loved fast cars- especially cruising the CY strip in her red 66 Ford Fairlane.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her ex-husband, Ralph M. Zettlemoyer, and sister-in-law, June Reed.

Vickie is survived by her children, son, Tony (Lorrie) Zettlemoyer, son, Todd Zettlemoyer, and daughter, Trisha Zettlemoyer; two granddaughters, Karlita Miller and Mikaela Miller, grandsons, Nick (McKenzie) Salo and Matt Salo; great-grandchildren, Taytum and Cason Salo, and siblings, James C.E. Reed and Kim (Reed) Marvel, nieces and nephews, James (Ami) Reed, Tami Reed, Shonn Reed, Shannon Reed, Brian Marvel, and Joe Marvel, and great-niece and great-nephews, Joe (Tori) and Jessie Reed, and Troy and Carson Altom.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 28, 2026 at 11:00 am at Highland Park Community Church with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery in Casper, Wyoming.
