Wanda Sue (Stevenson) Perkins, age 87, passed away peacefully at home in Casper, Wyoming, surrounded by loved ones on December 16, 2025. Born December 24, 1937, in Evanston, Wyoming, Sue was the daughter of Joseph Alfred Stevenson and Wanda Mary Stevenson.
She attended Brown School for elementary education and graduated from Evanston High School in 1956. Sue went on to earn her nursing degree from St. Benedict’s School of Nursing in Ogden, Utah, in 1959. That same year, on June 14th , she married the love of her life, Lynn Perkins. They shared nearly 30 years together before Lynn’s passing in June 1988.
Sue dedicated her career to caring for others as a Registered Nurse, retiring from Wyoming Medical Center in 2004 after 30 years of service. A faithful member of the LDS Church, she lived a life centered on compassion, family, and helping those in need.
She found joy in spending time with family and friends, traveling, camping, reading, sewing and crafts, and exploring her family history through genealogy. Sue’s warmth, kindness, and laughter touched everyone who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lynn, her brother Gary Stevenson, and many dear family and friends. Sue is survived by her three daughters: Amy Donmyer (Steven), Joelle Adams, and Paula Perkins; grandchildren Allison Bush (Adam), Corey Donmyer, Jacob Adams, Emily Adams, and Alec Adams; great-grandchildren Samuel Butcher, Willow Butcher, Treagan Adams, Leo Adams, Grayson Adams, Gabby Adams, Matthew Bush, and Maggie Bush; her younger brother Neil Stevenson (Nancy); and numerous beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
By Sue’s request, no formal services will be held. A family celebration of her life will take place at a later date - “a BBQ in the park,” just as she wished. The family extends heartfelt thanks to her hospice caregivers, especially Brynne, Peyton, and Trish, for their extraordinary care and support.
Mom will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Sue’s honor to your favorite charity.
