William “Bill” Jesse Arnold, 85, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, surrounded by the family he loved.

Born on December 20, 1940, in Tarboro, North Carolina, to Jesse B. and Ruby V. Arnold, Bill’s life was defined by dedication and hard work. After graduating from Tarboro High School in 1959, he began a distinguished military career. He first served four years in the United States Air Force before joining the United States Navy Seabees. He retired in 1994 at the rank of E-8, Construction Electrician Senior Chief—a testament to his skill and leadership.

While serving in the Air Force, Bill met the love of his life, Lynda Maahsen. They were married on September 12, 1964, and together raised three children: Sheri, Jenny, and William. In June 1976, the family moved to Casper, Wyoming, where Bill established himself as a Master Electrician and owner of Reddy Wire Electric. He later worked for the Western Area Power Administration until his retirement in 2006. Bill and Lynda shared a beautiful life until her passing on July 11, 1994.

A man with a large heart who cherished companionship, Bill found love again and married Linda “Lynn” K. Brown in February 3, 1996. Bill’s capacity to care for others was evident when he adopted Lynn’s grandson, Matthew, raising him as his own son. Bill and Lynn moved to Haines City, Florida, in 2006, where they remained until her passing on March 2, 2018. Bill eventually returned to his home of Casper in June 2023.

Bill was a man of the outdoors who found peace in the mountains, hunting, and spending time at Alcova Lake. He was also deeply committed to the Elks Lodge #1353. His leadership there was extensive, serving through all local chairs, as the Wyoming State President (1996–1997), and at the Grand Lodge level on the Lodge Activities and State Association Committee.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother; his brother; his wives, Lynda and Lynn; his son, Raymond Michael; his stepdaughter, Michelle; his granddaughter, Louisa, and great-grandson, Daniel.

Bill’s legacy lives on through his son, William Arnold; his daughters, Sheri (Ray) Holden-Peck and Jenny (Dale) Hubenthal; his stepdaughter, Lana, and stepson, Scott Brown; his adopted son, Matthew S. Brown; and a thriving family of 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Following cremation, Bill’s ashes will be spread according to his wishes alongside his wife, Lynda. No services are planned currently. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Tunnels of Towers.
