William David Jordan, known affectionately as Bill, passed away peacefully at his home in Casper, Wyoming, on June 23, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family, whose love and support were a great comfort to him in his final days. Bill was 76 years old.
Born on April 5, 1950, in Casper, Wyoming, Bill spent his entire life in the community he cherished. He graduated from Midwest High School in Midwest, Wyoming, laying the groundwork for a remarkable journey defined by hard work, devotion to family, and an open-hearted friendship that touched all who knew him.
Bill dedicated the majority of his professional life to working as a diesel mechanic, contributing his skills and expertise to respected companies such as Wyoming Machinery, Yellow Jacket, Getter, TereX, and Rissler McMurry. His work ethic was unwavering, and he earned a solid reputation for determination and reliability throughout his career.
Outside of work, Bill was a man of many interests and talents. He found great joy in golfing, woodworking, carpentry, playing pool, and fishing—activities that brought him relaxation and fostered connections with friends and loved ones. Those fortunate enough to spend time with him will remember his stubborn streak, sense of humor, and fun-loving personality. Bill loved to have a good time and made every gathering brighter with his presence. His friendliness knew no bounds; everyone was his friend, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand, embodying a generosity of spirit that left a lasting impact on all those around him.
Bill met Cindy Kathy Grayson through a mutual friend. They were married in 1977, and for decades, Cindy was his beloved partner and constant good luck charm. Her passing in 2014 left a void in his heart that was matched only by the fondness of his memories and the strength of their shared life.
Bill is survived by his two sons, David and his spouse, Carrie Jordan, and Eli and his spouse, Casey Jordan; four grandchildren, Cleve, Abigail, Charis, and Cami; four great-grandchildren, Keylarah, Karalee, Charlotte, and Emilina; his sister, JoAnne Tipton, and numerous nieces and nephews. Every member of his family carries forward his generous nature, wit, and kindness. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 37 years, Cindy Jordan, his daughter, Samantha Jordan, his brothers, Kenneth, John, and Robert Jordan.
The Jordan family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to all friends and relatives who offered support and companionship during Bill’s illness, and who celebrate his memory today. His legacy is one of steadfast loyalty, laughter, and a willingness to help others—qualities that will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
William “Bill” David Jordan will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all those privileged to have known him. His spirit, grounded in determination and kindness, will continue to lift hearts and light their way.
A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
