William Delbert "Dell" Garretson

William “Dell” Garretson, age 76, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, with his family by his side. Dell was born on February 9, 1950 to Henry and Wilma Lee Garretson in Sheridan, Wyoming. At the age of 14, his home was made in Casper, where he would spend his entire life. He graduated from Natrona County High School in 1968 and went on to attend Casper College where he college rodeoed.

At the age of 16, Dell met Pam Cuthbertson at a 4-H function. He was immediately part of the Cuthbertson family. The couple wed in 1972, and had two children, Travis and Kelly.

Dell and his good friend, Bill Mayfield, had a band all throughout high school. Later this branched out into the Dell Garretson band, which included his wife Pam and sister-in-law Dena. They played bars, parties and dances all over the region. If you wanted a country dance, they were the band to call!

As his kids got older, he put his guitar away and supported them through junior, high school and college rodeos, traveling all over the region to watch them compete. These were the best, most memorable days of his life.

By trade, Dell was a farrier and also a machinist at Cooter Jenkins machine shop until his retirement.

Dell is survived by his wife of 54 years Pam; son, Travis (Tomi); daughter Kelly (Ty); grandsons, Cole Garretson and Conner Correll; and sister, Saundra Lenneman He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Wilma Lee; his father-in-law, Carl Cuthbertson; and mother-in-law, Esther Cuthbertson.

Per his request, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice.
