Mattie L. Scott, 86, of Casper, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015, at her home in Casper. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at College Heights Baptist Church, 600 West 21st (Upper Church Bldg.), Casper, WY, with Pastor John Thomason officiating. Interment will follow at Wyoming Memorial Gardens.

She was born on June 1, 1929, in Denver, Colorado, to Matt and Barbara Walker. Mattie was married to Kermit Scott on February 2, 1948, in Denver. They moved to Wyoming in 1948, where they raised their children, Gail, Suzanne, Sally, and Alan.

Mattie, Kermit and their oldest daughter, Gail, founded the Galilean Christian book store in the late 1970's. Mattie and Kermit established the Cornerstone Christian book store in the early 1990’s. Mattie was faithful serving the Lord by fulfilling God’s call upon her life by serving her church, her family, and the many people who frequented her Christian book stores. Mattie loved and was loved by many people.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kermit; daughter, Gail Trujillo; son, Alan Scott; mother, Barbara; father, Matt; two brothers, Harvey and Gordon Walker; and sister, Barbara Davis. Mattie is survived by her children, Sally Marriner of Chicago, IL and Suzanne (Michael Raudsep) Collette of Seattle, WA; 8 grandchildren, Lisa (Stephen M. Lindbloom) Trujillo, Rachel (Randall Myers) Trujillo-Myers, Laurel (Josh Mahoney) Mahoney, Kristina (Duane Gray) Gray, Michelle (Lee Bruso) Bruso, Anthony Collette, Matthew Collette, and Chay (Bill Davis) Strohecker; 16 great-grandchildren, Adara (Colton Miller) Riffel, Zoe Riffel, Sadee (Lucas Soso) Riffel, Riley Lindbloom, Eli Myers, Graclean Mahoney, Everly Mahoney, Kalen (Jesse Cordova) Gray, Chandler Gray, Jared Gray, Jessica Gray, Briana Daharsh, Adriel Bruso, Amilya Strohecker, Gabby Davis, and Kyle Davis; 3 great great-grandchildren, Allyson Miller, Addison Cordova and Ondrej J. Soso; son-in-law, Ernie Trujillo; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to the Canadian Partnership Church Planting (Southern Baptist State Convention, 3925 Casper Mountain Road, Casper, WY 82601), in Mattie's name, to continue her legacy of serving others in the name of Jesus Christ.
