Mary L. Mendoza
1930 - 2015

Mary L. Mendoza at the age 85 passed on August 25, 2015 from a lengthy battle of Alzheimer’s at Life Care Center of Casper. She will be reunited with her husband after a Recitation of the Rosary and a Memorial Service that will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, August 31, 2015 at the Oregon Trail State Veteran's Cemetery, Evansville, Wyoming. A private family viewing will be held with cremation to follow for her final homecoming.

Mary was born on August 12, 1930 to Celestino Padilla and Mary Ann Martinez. She was one of 9 children. While working as a waitress she met & married Manuel B Mendoza on May 23, 1947 in Casper, WY. They traveled with their work picking in the fields and finally made their home in Casper, they went on to have 5 children. She worked several establishments waitressing including Rexall Drug, Walgreens Drug, Woolworth in her earlier years and then became a Lab Assistant. at Wyoming Medical Center retiring after 25 years of service. As we all know she couldn’t sit still she decided to take a greeting position at Wal-Mart for several more years until her diagnosis.

Mary loved to cook for all of her family, holiday gatherings and every one of her grandchildren. She loved to dance on or off the dance floor, had a smile for everyone and was always there for anyone who called upon her. She will be greatly missed.

Mary is survived by 3 of her children, Pete Mendoza, Rosi Clark, and Frank Mendoza; her sisters, Shirley (Enrique), Garcia, Lucy Chavez, Irene Martinez, and Ruby (Richard) Van Etten; one brother, William Padilla. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 41 great grand children; 8 great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and her pet Chico.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel B. Mendoza; parents, Celestino and Mary Ann Padilla; a son, Manuel B Mendoza Jr.; daughter, Madeline Mendoza-Isais; grandson, Travis Mendoza; brothers, Gilbert Padilla, and Raymond Padilla; and a sister, Molly Padilla.

I would like to thank all of the staff at Life Care Center of Wyoming for such great care they gave to our mother the last 3 years of her life. You are all exceptional people & caregivers. Bless you for your untiring service. I am glad she could make you smile with some of her stories and you in turn made her smile by listening & caring.

In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory or charity of your choice. This will be a celebration of Mary so in honor of her feel free to wear bright & beautiful colors to make her smile.
