Wilma Edith Allan, a 98-year resident of Casper, passed away of natural causes on June 10, 2019. She was born in Boulder Colorado on November 2, 1916 to Blanche (Hastings) and E. Curtis Swallow, a blacksmith in the mines of Nederland and Gold Hill Colorado and at the late Amoco Refinery in Casper for 45 years.

Wilma graduated from NCHS in 1934 and married Everett A. Allan in 1936 in Casper. She was employed at the Henning Hotel, Woolworths, J.C. Penny, and the Casper Air Base.

Wilma had a keen interest in the genealogy of her family. She and her father kept extensive scrapbooks of Casper history and of the local men and women who served in WWII. Her family were founding members of the First Christian Church and she was a dedicated servant there for many years. Wilma helped plan and participated in her class reunions for more than 60 years.

Above all, Wilma was a much-loved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, caregiver and encourager of family members, friends and neighbors. Her wealth and treasure resided in the family and friends she loved and with whom she shared a joyous sense of humor all her days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Everett Eugene (1937), her husband (1977), two brothers (Eugene and Laurence Swallow) and four sisters, Naomi Howard, Leona McKin, Hollis Crowe and Lois Watson.

Wilma is survived by her two children, Tom (Terri) Allan of Virginia Beach, VA and Linda (Richard) Whalen of Casper. Also three grandchildren, Rhiannon (Rick) Alexander of Norfolk, VA; Shana Allan of Virginia Beach, VA, Jerald (Rebeccah) Brown and great grandchildren, Elliot Wilson and Owen Alexander Brown of Sacramento CA. Also surviving are 12 nieces and nephews and their families.

Services at the First Christian Church will be led by Pastor Cynthia McBride and Paul Hallock at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 22. A graveside service by her niece, Pastor Lonnie Crowe, will follow at Memorial Gardens.
